Mango Butter nourishes and hydrates and provides our skin with Vitamins A, C and E which work to combat free radicals. Free radicals are found in the sun's rays and in pollution. Mango Butter contains higher levels of fatty acids than Cocoa and Shea Butters making it a more intensive moisturizer.
Shea Butter has a large natural concentration of natural vitamins E, D, pro-vitamin A, and allantoin. And a large proportion of fatty acids, & phytosterols. Shea is a super-food for your skin.
Rice Bran Oil has been known as the beauty secret of East Asian women's beauty regime for many years. Squalene found in rice bran oil is an organic compound also naturally produced by human skin. It acts as a moisturizing lubricant which gives the skin a soft smooth velvety appearance. Gamma oryzanol and vitamin E also reduce tissue oxidation which slows down ageing of skin, resulting in beautiful healthy skin texture and complexion.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin. How?
Antioxidants are agents that neutralize the oxidant effect of free radicals, which are molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles. A simple chemistry lesson can explain how vitamin E works. The atoms that comprise your body try to maintain an even number of electrons -- this keeps them stable. If an atom has an uneven number of electrons, it will steal an electron from another atom to become stable. So, when your skin takes a beating from the sun's ultraviolet rays, your body can produce free radicals. Free radicals are atoms with an uneven number of electrons, and when they form inside your body, they want to steal electrons from healthy cells like the ones that make up your skin. This can cause a damaging chain reaction, and that's where antioxidants like vitamin E come in.
Antioxidants like Vitamin E, neutralize free radicals and prevent cellular damage from occurring. Vitamin E is one of the most powerful antioxidants, but your body can't produce it, so getting it in your diet, and applying it with skin care like our Dry Skin Body Frosting, can help your skin stay healthy and supple.
Lanolin is great for dry skin. Deeply moisturizing, it is lipid rich, and lack of lipids is one of the causes of dry skin. Lack of lipids allows water to escape, but lanolin fills in those gaps preventing it.
Lavender and Orange Essential Oils are both antiseptic and anti-inflammatory. Orange Oil has been shown to increase Collagen and the absorption of Vitamin C.
